Hello! I’m Carlos Ramírez and I am the Sr. Minister at Generations @ Putnam City United Methodist Church. I grew up in Puebla, Mexico and in late 2004 I moved to the United States. I married Wendi Neal (also a minister) and we have two wonderful children: Miguel and Citlali. God has called me to build bridges between people. I grew up in a mixed Roman Catholic-Methodist family and now my family is also mixed with our different language and cultural traditions. In all the experiences I have where there is clear differences (in culture, language, socio-economic status, nationality, etc.), I have come to realize that God’s power manifest powerfully when we can build relationships amid our differences. We live in a world that seems to be reacting against differences and trying to close down into “in groups.” Yet, I believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ invites us all to love and accept others regardless of where they come from, the color of their skin, their socio-economic background, or any other barrier we create. Generations @ Putnam City UMC, we are intentionally dedicated to welcome all people and to create genuine and long lasting relationships. We all have different backgrounds but amid our differences we love and care for each other. If you are looking for a place where you can be who God has called you to be and you can also love and affirm others, Generations @ Putnam City UMC is waiting for you. I look forward meeting you!

“Hi! I’m Alex Martinez and I am the Children’s Minister at Generations @ Putnam City United Methodist Church. I was born in Clewiston, Florida (tiny swamp town) and in June 2005 I moved to the Wild West of Oklahoma City. I went through the PC School system and fell in love with the city. I married Katie Thorne (a teacher) in 2019 and we are having a BABY SOON! Growing up I didn’t go to church (although influenced by Catholicism) until Middle School where I was saved and felt a call to spread the word. After that I searched for any opportunity to serve and teach our future generations the power of Christ. From my small roots in Florida to the family I have made here now, it has made me recognize the need for a beacon of light in our side of the city. Children are the way to make real change in our ever-increasing crazy world.”
