Welcome to

Putnam City United Methodist Church!

A lighthouse is our symbol at Putnam City United Methodist Church.  I have always been attracted to lighthouses.  I have a mental picture of a distant light on a dark night, guiding me safely through danger toward a warm drink, a glowing fire, and the family I love.

My friend, Paul, retired from dentistry and took to the open seas on his sailboat.  He liked to quote a prayer  attributed to Saint Brendan the Mariner.

“LORD, GUIDE ME.  MY BOAT IS VERY SMALL AND THE SEA IS VERY WIDE.”

Think of life in the modern world.  Don’t we need Someone standing near as we cross the sea of life?  Don’t we need Someone out ahead to guide us safely into the next harbor… both in this life and the next?  Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life.” (John 14:6)  The Lord Jesus is that light!  At Putnam City we lift up Jesus, The Light of the world.

If you are looking for a spiritual home, please join us for Sunday Services. Whether you are searching for Jesus, or a community, or even something you can't quite put into words, Putnam City  offers an environment and community where you can explore or continue your quest.
